Our Story


The founder of Hong Huong Vietnamese Restaurant (Huong) came to Canada in 1992. Huong has worked at many Vietnamese restaurant and Canadian restaurants before opening her own in 2012. Huong was born and raised in a small town in Vietnam.

Before opening her own restaurant, she had seen many students getting mistreated at work. One of the many reasons Huong opened up her own restaurant. When she saw a student coming straight to work after school and eating the leftovers of the customer's dishes because they were not allowed to eat during work. She felt so bad for them. Huong ended up making the jump to opening her own restaurant.

Mission

Huong’s mission is not only providing authentic and quality food. However, her mission is to help students have the ability to attend school and not having to worry about their stomach not being full.

Majority of the employees that do work at Hong Huong are students. Either they are attending post-secondary or getting ready for the transition to post-secondary. The reason Huong opened her restaurant is to help students achieve work experience while they attend school.
